Dark Weather is a 5 parter plus 2 specials about messed up relationships and how they can mess you up.
"I thoroughly recommend you read these comics as they breathe new life into what used to be called navel-gazing small press comics."
I recently sat down and re-read through the complete Dark Weather and was much more impressed than I've been, and I was always impressed. Over the issues not much seemed to happen and though the atmos was accomplished there wasn't much more to write home about. With the circle complete, the whole think makes perfect sense. The problem is I can't really describe it without spoiling it for you, but the main theme seems to be about running away from things and trying to cope with gaps in your life when things run away from you. I thoroughly recommend you read these comics as they breathe new life into what used to be called navel-gazing small press comics.
Considering this was my first series and was very much a learning process as a storyteller, I think it still stands up well today. I had a myriad of weird little Twin Peaks like characters and plot strands jotted down about the strangeness of everyday life, and then I hit upon the idea of combining them into one multi layered 5 part story. Two specials grew organically out of a title I had a hard time giving up.
The first 3 issues of Dark Weather were recently serialised in the SmallZone anthology Comic Artists Of The Future #19-24, concluding in Incoming #2.
